Orient pile pressure back on Swindon

Midfielder Jason Demetriou's stunning third-minute strike was enough to give Leyton Orient a 1-0 win over relegation-threatened Swindon. Cyprus international Demetriou collected Wayne Gray's lay-off and fired an unstoppable right-foot shot from 20 yards into Phil Smith's top right-hand corner to decide a dull encounter. Swindon enjoyed a host of chances throughout the game but could not find a way past the impressive Jamie Jones in the Orient goal. Robins midfielder Owain Tudor-Jones tested the former Everton youth player with a fine curling free-kick after 16 minutes that was tipped over the crossbar just as it appeared that it was dipping in. Jones also pulled off a fine save from Robins striker Billy Paynter after he had been set up by strike partner Simon Cox. Paynter headed against the crossbar from just three yards out eight minutes after the break following a fine run by on-loan Reading winger Hal Robson-Kanu. Top-scorer Cox endured a miserable day for Swindon and saw a shot cannon back off the post 13 minutes from time as Orient held on for the win.
