Image: Balkestein: Doubtful for Boro clash

Team news ahead of Tuesday's Capital One Cup Round One clash between Stevenage and AFC Wimbledon at Broadhall Way.

Stevenage boss Gary Smith may hand out as many as seven full debuts. David Gray, James Dunne, Anthony Grant, Filipe Morais, Greg Tansey and Marcus Haber are all likely to feature having joined the club in the summer. Defender Bondz N'Gala may also make his bow alongside Mark Roberts at the back if Jon Ashton is not fit in time. Matt Ball is unavailable for the game after being called up to represent Northern Ireland Under-21s. Midfielder Robin Shroot has been in fine goalscoring form during pre-season but is expected to settle for a place on the bench. This is Boro's third participation in the League Cup, and they are still searching for a first victory. AFC Wimbledon boss Terry Brown may be forced to consider a defensive reshuffle. Summer signing Pim Balkestein may have to wait for his competitive debut after suffering an ankle injury in their pre-season clash with Portsmouth. Fellow defender Curtis Osano missed that fixture through injury while midfielder Louis Harris was also unavailable. The trio face late fitness tests with Brown hoping they have had enough time to recover. However, Stacy Long, Angus McDonald and Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz could all be in line for competitive debuts after joining the club in pre-season. Left-back Warren Cummings will lead the Dons out as club captain for the first time after he was handed the role during the summer.
