Brest enjoyed their first away win of the season, beating Sochaux 2-1 at the Stade Bonal.

Brest enjoyed their first away win of the season, beating Sochaux 2-1 at the Stade Bonal to heap more pressure on their fellow strugglers. Cedric Bakambu gave the home side the lead in the second half but goals from Kamel Chafni and Eden Ben Basat turned things in Brest's favour. The win lifts them five points and as many places clear of Sochaux, who remain in the bottom three and two points from safety. The hosts came into the match on a run of four matches without a win, but seemed to determined to break that when Abdoul Camara fired inches wide after 10 minutes. Sebastian Roudet came just as close with his right-footed volley three minutes later as Brest struggled to settle. Indeed, they had to wait 32 minutes for their first chance of the match when Jonathan Ayite delivered the perfect ball to Charlison Benschop, whose left-footed strike was parried clear by home goalkeeper Simon Pouplin. Sochaux responded with a dangerous header from Ryad Boudebouz which was kept out by Brest goalkeeper Alexis Thebaux. And it was no surprise when they took the lead after 59 minutes. Bakambu started and finished the move, passing to Jerome Roussillon before receiving the ball back and rolling it in from close range. However, Brest were back on level terms four minutes later thanks to Chafni, who ran on to a free-kick from Bruno Grougi and deflected the ball in. Toulouse struggled to recover from the blow and it cost them a second goal 13 minutes from time. Benschop made a penetrating run into the area before laying the ball off for Ben Basat to smash home with his right foot. Sochaux were given a chance to equalise in stoppage time but Boudebouz's curling free-kick was punched away by Thebaux.
