Skipper Morgan returns for grudge match; Clarets without Carlisle

Sheffield United will be seeking revenge when they host Burnley at Bramall Lane on Saturday. The two sides have not met since the 2009 Championship play-off final at Wembley, when the Blades' promotion hopes were shattered as Wade Elliot's goal provided the Clarets with a 1-0 win and a ticket into the Premier League. Burnley may have dropped straight back down into the Championship at the end of last season, but they have enjoyed an encouraging start to the campaign, sitting sixth in the standings with 16 points from 10 games. Brian Laws' side make the trip to south Yorkshire on the back of a formidable four-match unbeaten streak, which is likely to put the Blades on their guard after a decidedly less impressive start to the season. Gary Speed's strugglers are in the bottom half of the table having managed just one win from their last five games and will be looking to turn around their poor start.

Boost

United have received a boost with the news captain Chris Morgan is expected to return to the starting line-up for the home clash. The central defender has been absent for the last three games with a hamstring knock, but came through 45 minutes for the reserves unscathed in midweek. Morgan is likely to partner Nyron Nosworthy in defence, as Kyle Bartley continues his recovery from a broken cheekbone. The Blades are still without striker Jamie Ward, who sits out the last game of his three-match ban following his red card at Leeds last month. Speed is banking on the fitness of fellow front man Ched Evans, who has been nursing a groin strain. The manager has no other new injury or suspension problems, but is still without defender Rob Kozluk (knee) and long-term absentees Lee Williamson, Darius Henderson and Ryan France.
Burnley news
The Clarets are without defender Clarke Carlisle for the trip to Bramall Lane as he begins a three-match ban. The centre-back was given his marching orders during the 1-1 draw at Millwall earlier this month and could be replaced by Michael Duff or Leon Cort. Both men played just over an hour for the reserves in midweek and manager Laws may also be without Andre Bikey. Bikey suffered damage to his ribs against Millwall and was replaced after just 14 minutes, but the Cameroon international is still troubled by the injury and a late decision will be made on his fitness. Elsewhere, Dean Marney will hope to keep his place ahead of Graham Alexander in midfield and Kevin McDonald has joined Scunthorpe on a month-long loan deal.
