Rotherham v Macclesfield preview

Team news for Tuesday's League Two clash between Rotherham and Macclesfield at Don Valley Stadium.

Assistant manager Darren Patterson will take temporary charge of Rotherham's clash against Macclesfield after Andy Scott was sacked on Monday following less than a year at the helm. Versatile Mark Bradley, who has found himself at right-back in recent weeks, hobbled out of Saturday's defeat at Oxford with a knee problem and will be assessed. If Bradley does not make it then Dale Tonge, who came on at the Kassam Stadium, will start. Veteran centre-half Richard Naylor is a continued absentee while left-back Scott Griffiths is no nearer to fitness as they also both battle knee injuries. Loanees Kieron Cadogan and Sam Hoskins were introduced from the bench on Saturday as the Millers chased the game and they are in contention for starting spots. Meanwhile, Brian Horton will begin his second spell as Macclesfield manager against Rotherham faced with the injury crisis that plagued the final months of Gary Simpson's reign. Saturday's defeat to Dagenham led to Simpson's dismissal after a run of 14 games without victory left the Silkmen outside the League Two relegation zone on goal difference. Lewis Chalmers made an unexpected return in midfield against the Daggers following a lengthy absence with hernia trouble and will be assessed ahead of kick-off. Oldham loanee Matt Smith made his debut up front, although Ben Tomlinson will push him for a starting berth alongside George Donnelly having recovered from illness. Matt Ball was an unused substitute at the weekend after joining on loan from Norwich and could come into a midfield deprived of Ross Draper (broken metatarsal), Marcus Marshall and Dwaine Mattis (both ankle). Carl Tremarco came back from a hamstring injury on Saturday but fellow defender Paul Morgan (ankle) is expected to miss the rest of the season.
