Leaders Rochdale and high-flying York shared the spoils as the battle of League Two's form sides ended in a 0-0 draw at Spotland.

Dale had won four of their last five games coming into the clash while York were looking for a sixth successive away win to boost their play-off push. York's well organised defence kept the home side at bay during a first-half dominated by Rochdale. The closest Keith Hill's side came to breaking through the Minstermen's ranks came in the ninth minute when Ian Henderson's free kick picked out Olly Lancashire, the defender getting up above Keith Lowe but directing a header over the top of Nick Pope's goal. Jamie Allen met Joe Bunney's cross soon after only to see his effort deflected wide by Will Hayhurst while Matt Done's free kick just before the interval was beaten away by goalkeeper Pope. The York keeper was kept busy after the break, denying Allen and managing to hold on to Matt Lund's volley with striker Scott Hogan ready to pounce. Pope's best work of the day saw him fly to his left to keep out Hogan's curling effort on 78 minutes. He was beaten three minutes later when Hogan met Henderson's cross but the striker's header across the face of goal clipped the far post and bounced wide.
