Lyon extended their unbeaten run to 10 games in all competitions with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Reims at the Stade August-Delaune. Alexandre Lacazette set Les Gones on their way with a first-half strike before Gueida Fofana scored his first goal of the season with six minutes left to secure the points for the visitors. Defeat for Reims, their first in the league since November, meant Hubert Fournier's team missed out on the opportunity to leapfrog Nantes and Marseille into fifth place. The hosts began brightly and Floyd Ayite went close early on in what was an entertaining start to the game but, after making space for a shot inside the area, the Togo international saw his effort turned around the post by Anthony Lopes. Lyon offered an instant response at the other end but Yoann Gourcuff saw his shot saved at the second attempt by Kossi Agassa after Clement Grenier picked him out from a free-kick. Remi Garde's men went even closer as the 20-minute mark approached but, after dribbling clear of Aissa Mandi and Mads Albaek, Henri Bedimo saw his shot come back off Agassa's right post. Despite that though, Les Gones took a deserved lead seven minutes later when Lacazette scored for the 10th time this season. Bedimo caused more problems for the Reims defence and, after beating Mandi once again, his cross picked out the France international who clinically fired past Agassa to open the scoring. The visitors continued to press and thought they had a penalty when Grzegorz Krychowiak appeared to handle Gourcuff's delivery but referee Olivier Thual was unmoved. Reims almost found a way back in to the game twice before the break but Anthony Weber crashed a header against the bar from Ayite's corner before Bedimo hacked an Antoine Devaux effort off the line after Lopes had saved. The second half failed to live up to its predecessor and, after a long hold-up following an injury to Lyon's Miguel Lopes, it was not until the final quarter of an hour that Reims fashioned a real goalscoring opportunity, but Nicolas De Preville headed just wide of Lopes' goal. Lyon then wrapped all three points late on when Fofana was allowed all the time and space he needed to bend a superb shot beyond Agassa and into the top right corner from Maxime Gonalons' pass.
