Blaise Matuidi scored a minute from time to put Paris St Germain on the brink of the French title as they beat Evian 1-0.

Blaise Matuidi scored a minute from time to put Paris St Germain on the brink of the French title as they beat Evian 1-0. Fresh from winning the Coupe de la Ligue on Saturday, Laurent Blanc's men looked tired and likely to fluff their lines against their relegation-haunted opponents. But Matuidi took in a Lucas Moura pass close to the final whistle to do the deed and see off their 10-man opponents, with Kassim Abdallah having already seen red. As a result PSG are now 10 points clear of second-placed Monaco with four games left and will confirm back-to-back titles with a win at Sochaux on Sunday. Evian stay five points ahead of trouble after a game they were never expected to win and will take heart from how they performed in the capital. They hit the bar through Daniel Wass and generally gave an account of a side unlikely to be outside of the top flight next season. Wass' free-kick against the bar represented the first real action of the night, before Jesper Hansen saved well at the other end, denying Ezequiel Lavezzi after some smart build-up play. PSG stepped up their pursuit of the win after the break, with Lavezzi again in the thick of the action. Javier Pastore and Adrien Rabiot linked well, with the latter's pass across the six-yard box finding Lavezzi, who failed to hit the target. Abdallah was then sent off for a second yellow card in five minutes, chopping down Lucas Digne, before Matuidi flashed wide from midway inside the area. He would find his range shortly after, though, taking in Lucas' pass and slotting in the goal which puts his side on the brink of the title.
