Team news for Saturday's League One clash between Preston North End and Tranmere Rovers at Deepdale.

New loan signing Paul Gallagher will come into Simon Grayson's thinking when North End host Rovers in League One. The Glasgow-born forward is back at North End for a second loan spell until January after agreeing a temporary switch from parent club Leicester on Wednesday. Gallagher may be down the pecking order, though, with Iain Hume and Joe Garner earning praise from Grayson for their substitute cameos against Notts County last weekend. Grayson has had the luxury of choosing from a near fully-fit squad for most of the season and Jack King, still their only absentee, is likely to return at the start of next month after the midfielder featured in the Lancashire Senior Cup on Tuesday on his comeback from a broken foot. Tranmere are hopeful both Danny Holmes and Tom Hateley can feature when they travel to Preston in League One. The home win over MK Dons looked to have come at a cost as defensive duo Holmes (knee) and Hateley (hamstring) both missed training earlier in the week, however they were back involved on Thursday to provide boss Ronnie Moore with plenty of encouragement. Former Everton trainee James Wallace remains sidelined with a long-standing knee injury yet Rovers are optimistic he could be back playing for the reserves in a couple of weeks. Jason Koumas is another who has been troubled by injury but, after being included in the squad of late, the former Wales international is now fully recovered from a groin problem.
