Port Vale v Morecambe preview

Team news ahead of Saturday's League Two clash between Port Vale and Morecambe at Vale Park.

Vale boss Micky Adams has no new injury concerns as they bid to leapfrog Morecambe and move into the play-off places when the sides meet at Vale Park. Liam Chilvers will be available after the defender extended his loan spell from Notts County. He will now remain with Vale until December 24. Defender Lee Collins and midfielders Ryan Burge and Lewis Haldane continue to miss out. Collins is working with the club's physio after undergoing groin surgery and Vale expect him to be back in full training in 10 days time. Burge, a summer signing from Hyde, is struggling with a knee injury and has not trained this week. Haldane is still some way from returning after breaking his leg. Meanwhile, striker Danny Carlton could return ahead of schedule to spearhead Morecambe's attack when they travel to Vale. Carlton, who has bagged seven goals this term, was expected to miss six weeks of action with knee ligament damage but boss Jim Bentley is hopeful he will return after just three weeks out. The forward's inclusion would be a welcome boost for Bentley given that he could be without two of his other attackers. Phil Jevons will definitely miss out after picking up a three-match suspension with his sending-off in the draw against Southend. Kevin Ellison is also a major doubt with a knee problem. Ellison, who is the Shrimps' joint-top scorer along with Carlton, went to see a specialist during the week and the club will assess him before deciding if he is fit enough to play. Defender Paul Scott (knee) is a long-term absentee with a knee injury.
