Parma came from behind to claim a 3-2 victory over Roma and leapfrog their opponents in the Serie A table. Erik Lamela put the Giallorossi in front after only eight minutes before Ishak Belfodil and Marco Parolo scored in quick succession to put the hosts ahead at the interval. Cristiano Zaccardo then made it 3-1 before Francesco Totti fired home at the second attempt when his penalty was saved. Belfodil saw red with seven minutes remaining but his team-mates were able to hang on for the win and go above Roma and into sixth place. Lamela's opener was emphatic, a powerful left-footed strike from inside the area that nestled in the bottom corner. Pablo Osvaldo missed two chances to put Roma further in front and after 35 minutes Parma made him pay. Belfodil, on as a 16th-minute substitute for the injured Amauri, was the scorer from close range after a deft pass from Marco Marchionni. Two minutes later Parolo struck his side's second with a neat left-footed finish, Belfodil the creator on this occasion. Roma were forced to replace Maarten Stekelenburg at half-time and new keeper Mauro Goicoechea had to save from Jaime Valdes after just a minute on the pitch. Parma did extend their lead in the 65th minute when Zaccardo slotted home a low shot following a goalmouth scramble. The scoring was not yet finished and it took just six more minutes from Roma to get back within a goal. Afriyie Acquah gave away a penalty after a challenge of Leandro Castan and when Totti saw his spot-kick saved by Antonio Mirante, the veteran kept his nerve to convert the loose ball. Belfodil gave Roma hope when he was shown a second yellow with seven minutes to play but the visitors were unable to make their late advantage count.
