Grant boost for Yeovil

Forward Joel Grant has made his long-awaited return from injury to boost Yeovil's options.

The former Wycombe winger played four times for Jamaica at the end of last season before suffering ligament damage in his foot during a gym session. But he scored twice in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Plymouth on Tuesday afternoon and could be involved this weekend. "You can run as much as you like and get fit that way but at the end of the day, it's about matches and people kicking you up in the air," boss Gary Johnson told the Western Gazette. "That's fitness - getting whacked to the ground and getting up and getting involved again. You can't do that on your own. "Joel looks near enough ready, so we won't have any problems. He's probably not ready to start but he's certainly ready to play a part." After Grant's double the goalscoring was completed by an unlikely source in club physio Simon Baker. "Simon was a good apprentice under me 10 years ago and unlucky not to get a contract," Johnson added. "This might be his second chance but he's a better physio!"
