Latics boss planning to hold talks with Sinclair and Moreno

Roberto Martinez is hoping to agree deals to keep on-loan duo Scott Sinclair and Marcelo Moreno at Wigan Athletic next season. Sinclair has spent the campaign on loan at the DW Stadium from Chelsea, but has started only one game in the Premier League. However, despite the 21-year-old's inability to secure a regular starting spot with the Latics, Martinez is keen to have the versatile attacker in his squad next term. "It's safe to say everyone knows I really value Scott's potential as a player," Martinez told the Wigan Evening Post. "I know it's been a tough season for him, but he has developed massively over the last 10 or 11 months and has gone on to a different level as a human being. "We would all love to carry on working with Scott, but we'll have to sit down with him and see how he feels."

Moreno comfortable

Martinez is also planning talks regarding a deal for Bolivian striker Moreno, who has failed to score in 12 appearances since his arrival on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk in the January transfer window. The Latics boss added: "Marcelo has brought something in to the squad that we were missing, something different. He has felt really comfortable at the club. "He is still a young man, and we will sit down with him over the next few weeks and see what he thinks. "We have got an option that gives us control over him. The exact details need to be finalised with Shakhtar, and he remains their player. "And we have to remember they paid around 12m euros when they signed him a couple of years ago, so the finances of the deal would have to be right for us."
