Diego Costa will not skip international duty with Spain, despite Jose Mourinho’s concerns over the striker’s injuries.

The Spaniard has scored eight goals in six Premier League games this season and played the full 90 minutes in Chelsea’s 1-0 win at Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday.

Chelsea boss Mourinho had previously raised concern over Costa’s hamstrings and had suggested he should be left out of the Spain squad for their games against Slovakia and Luxembourg this month, but insisted he would not contact Vicente Del Bosque over the matter.

But Costa insists he will be available, if selected.

He told Spanish paper Marca: “If I played 90 minutes it's clear that I'm okay. I am feeling better all the time, and it is the Vicente del Bosque's decision.

“During the week I have been working intensively with the physios because I have had some discomfort for a while.”
