Teenage midfielder poised for loan stint away from PSV

PSV youngster Funso Ojo is set to go out on loan after the winter break, according to technical director Marcel Brands. The 19-year-old midfielder, who came through the youth ranks in Eindhoven, has struggled to secure regular first-team action at PSV this season and has been left warming the bench. And Brands says while the young Belgian remains a key part of the Eredivisie club's future plans, he needs to gain first-team experience elsewhere. "We consider Funso to be an important player for the future," Brands told Eindhovens Dagblad. "However, he's not yet ready to get regular first team football and is too good to play with the reserves. "Therefore, we're ready to farm him out on loan." Ojo, who made his official debut for PSV in the 2008-09 campaign, has notched up six league appearances overall for the club, as well as a number of Dutch Cup and UEFA Europa League outings.
