Stuttgart general manager Fredi Bobic has confirmed he and chairman Gerd Mauser have agreed to hold contract talks.

Wolfsburg striker Lakic also on transfer radar

Stuttgart general manager Fredi Bobic has confirmed he and chairman Gerd Mauser have agreed to sit down and discuss a new deal in the upcoming weeks. Bobic's current deal at Mercedes-Benz-Arena is due to expire in the summer, but the 40-year-old is thought to want to stay. The former Bolton striker has been responsible for a lot of Stuttgart's transfer activity since he arrived in July 2010 and talks have been scheduled with Mauser in January. Bobic told the club's official website: "The chairman and I have agreed we will start to sit down at the beginning of this new year. "We will then discuss everything, things that look very important to me, calmly. We did not have enough time to do so in recent weeks and months." Meanwhile, Stuttgart are being linked with Croatia international striker Srdjan Lakic, who is currently at Wolfsburg, but is reported to be unsettled at Volkswagen Arena. Bobic told Stuttgarter Zeitung newspaper: "Srdjan Lakic is a player who is looking interesting to me. But we would first have to know the details."
