Croatian agrees four-year contract and will move in the summer

Steve McClaren's Wolfsburg have confirmed Kaiserslautern striker Srdjan Lakic will join them in the summer. The Croatian forward has agreed a four-year deal and he will move on a free transfer when his contract with Kaiserslautern expires in June. Lakic is excited about the prospect of moving to Wolfsburg, but he has pledged to remain fully focused on Kaiserslautern until the end of the season. "I am really glad that the transfer has worked out," said the 27-year-old. "It is a great challenge for me. Wolfsburg is a big club with a lot of ambitions which I hope to be able to play an important role in achieving.

"That is why I chose Wolfsburg and I am looking forward to the new season starting. "Until then, I will concentrate fully on Kaiserslautern and hope to end the season successfully." Wolfsburg's managing director, Dieter Hoeness, said: "He is a classical centre forward. "He likes to get in there where it hurts, he creates space and he works for the team. "He is ambitious, hungry and strong minded and he therefore is just what we were looking for."
