Chadwick surgery a success

MK Dons midfielder Luke Chadwick has undergone a successful knee operation after suffering problems with his knee in late February.

After several scans and specialist consultations, the club's medical team decided he was able to continue training and playing with a view to assessing the injury in the summer. However, the problem reoccurred during the final league game of the season at home to Walsall and Chadwick was forced off through injury after coming on as a substitute. "After an investigation we discovered this had deteriorated and surgery would be required," said Dons head of sports medicine Simon Crampton. "However, Chaddy being the type of character he is he asked to postpone the surgery to ensure he would be available for the play-offs. "Luke is a model professional and it is testament to his character that he spent every hour in the treatment room to make sure he had the best chance to be fit enough for the play-offs. "On Wednesday he had surgery with our specialist in London which was very successful. The surgery was a straightforward procedure which lasted less than 10 minutes and we are very happy with the outcome. He will now spend the summer working on his rehabilitation programme and we are very hopeful he will be back for the start of the season."
