Sheffield United's highly-rated teenage striker Jordan Slew has agreed a new two-year deal with the Blades.
The 18-year-old has committed his future to the Bramall Lane outfit until the summer of 2013 following a season of ups and downs. Sheffield-born Slew was a star of the Blades' FA Youth Cup run, and broke into the first team to score goals against Preston and Bristol City last season, but the club's relegation from the Championship cast a shadow over his long-term future in South Yorkshire. He told the club's official website: "I'm delighted everything is sorted and now I can fully concentrate on the remainder of pre-season and getting ready for the start against Oldham next month. "This is my hometown and where I want to continue my development. The aim now is to play as many games and score as many goals as possible." Manager Danny Wilson added: "Jordan knows we think a lot of him, he's got a load of potential, but there's also a lot of hard work in front of him to realise his full potential."
