Sunderland have not approached Burnley to speak to manager Sean Dyche, Sky Sports News HQ understands.

Reports have linked him with a possible move to the Stadium of Light with the Black Cats looking for a new manager after Dick Advocaat retired from management having kept the club in the Premier League last season.

Burnley were relegated from the Premier League last season but Dyche was widely praised for the way he led his side on a limited budget.

That has led to the 43-year-old being linked with a move away from Turf Moor, although he is not understood to be in talks with Sunderland at the moment.

Former West Ham and Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce and experienced German coach Armon Veh are also among the leading candidates for the job, according to the bookmakers.
