Brendan Rodgers will meet with Liverpool’s hierarchy this week as the Premier League club holds their end of season review.

Liverpool finished sixth in the Premier League, crashed out of the group stages of the Champions League and missed out on a place in next year’s tournament in a disappointing campaign.

Rodgers, who took charge of the Reds three years ago on Monday, fuelled speculation over his future when he admitted his job could be under threat in the wake of a 6-1 thrashing by Stoke on the final day of the season.

They are not looking at a change of manager at this stage and this is one of a number of meetings as they look to take a calm and measured approach.

However, Sky Sports News HQ reporter Vinny O’Connor believes the club remains committed to Rodgers and are not considering replacing the 42-year-old.

“Sources have confirmed to me today that principal owner John W Henry, chairman Tom Werner and director Mike Gordon, FSG’s second largest shareholder, are due to arrive in Liverpool tomorrow,” said O’Connor.

“They will conduct the club’s end of season review, it is similar to the review that has taken place every season since they’ve been in charge, but obviously there is a greater deal of importance on this one, given Liverpool’s disappointing performance this season in not qualifying for the Champions League.

“They will meet with Brendan Rodgers in the next few days. However, I’m told that their stance hasn’t changed. While there is an acceptance that there are questions to be answered and they will look at how they can do things better and how they can take the club forward - still not on the agenda is the future of the manager.

“They are not looking at a change of manager at this stage and this is one of a number of meetings as they look to take a calm and measured approach - certainly no dramas as it stands at the moment and those number of meetings will also include checking on the progress of the Anfield building work and also checking on the academy as well.

“But from Brendan Rodgers' point of view the most important thing is this end of season review with is due to start imminently with the club’s owners due in Liverpool tomorrow (Tuesday)."

News that Jurgen Klopp, one of the names touted as a possible replacement, is to take a break after leaving Borussia Dortmund has further strengthened the short-term position of Rodgers, who only signed a new four-year contract 12 months ago after almost winning the title.
