Villarreal captain Bruno Soriano has spoken of his delight at his return to the Spain squad after a prolonged absence from the international scene.
The 30-year-old midfielder has not featured for the national team since October 2010, but Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque has recalled Bruno to his squad after Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas was ruled out on Tuesday with a hamstring injury.
Spain host Belarus in Friday's Euro 2016 qualifier before facing world champions Germany in a friendly in Vigo three days later.
"I've always said that to be called up to the national team is a reward for hard work," Bruno said on www.villarrealfc.es. "I couldn't be any happier.
"It gives me great pride to wear the Spain jersey again.
"I will try to help the team and my team-mates as much as I can.
"These are important games and I will try to contribute as best as I can to make sure things go well and that we not only win but also give a good image."
Bruno has started in 10 of Villarreal's 11 league games so far to help the club climb to eighth in La Liga.
European champions Spain head into this weekend's qualifier in second place in Group C with six points from three games, there points adrift of pool leaders Slovakia.
