Pesch looking to strengthen

Burton manager Paul Peschisolido has revealed a desire to strengthen his squad despite a strong start to the season.

The 2-0 win over Swindon at the Pirelli Stadium last Saturday hoisted the Brewers into fourth, their highest ever league position, but the Canadian insists that new faces will be necessary over the course of a long and gruelling campaign. He told the Burton Mail: "The league table looks lovely right now but it's still only September and the majority of a long, hard season still lies ahead of us. "I honestly believe that the right time to strengthen is now while things are going well - and that's what I'm working on. We do have a good squad of players but you never say 'never' in this game, especially if someone comes along who can improve the side. "I would like to do something transfer-wise sooner rather than later because we've laid a great foundation and we need to build on it. "We've had a few injury problems of late which have been a timely reminder that squad numbers can drop quickly."
