PEC Zwolle lost ground on the Eredivisie's leading pack with a 3-2 defeat away to Go Ahead Eagles.

Zwolle would have gone second, ahead of Ajax, with a win but trailed 2-0 after only 14 minutes as Jeffrey Rijsdijk and Fernando Lewis found the net.

Stefan Nijland quickly pulled a goal back but Bart Vriends made it 3-1 before half-time and Tomas Necid's goal was nothing more than a consolation.

Cambuur Leeuwarden moved ahead of Zwolle into third place with a 2-2 draw away to Heerenveen, coming back from 2-0 down.

Mark Uth's early penalty and Marlon Pereira's own goal put Cambuur in trouble but Bartholomew Ogbeche and Etienne Reijnen drew them level.

FC Utrecht won 3-1 away to FC Dordrecht. Ruud Boymans scored in the ninth minute, Josimar Lima's own goal made it 2-0 and though Dordrecht substitute Rick ten Voorde scored within a minute of his introduction, Yassine Ayoub made it 3-1 late on.

FC Groningen and Excelsior drew 1-1. Maikel Kieftenbeld put through his own goal but Eric Botteghin earned Groningen a point.

PSV Eindhoven remained at the top of the standings after a 3-0 win over AZ Alkmaar on Saturday.

Adam Maher (29, 41) scored twice after Luciano Narsingh's 20th minute opener as PSV kept one step ahead of second-placed Ajax, who were held to a 1-1 draw by FC Twente.

Twente looked on course to claim victory after Jesus Corona's 17th minute goal but Kolbeinn Sigthorsson levelled the scores in the 71st minute to put Ajax four points behind PSV.

Elsewhere, Elvis Manu scored two goals in seven minutes as Feyenoord defeated rock bottom Heracles 2-1.

Manu netted in the 12th and 19th minutes with Jeroen Veldmate's 63rd minute penalty not enough for the visitors.

Meanwhile, Vitesse defeated Willem II 4-1 thanks to goals from Davy Propper (15), Bertrand Traore (45), Denys Oliynyk (88) and Abiola Dauda (90), with Ben Sahar's 57th minute goal for Willem scant consolation.

In Saturday's other game, 10-man ADO Den Haag drew 1-1 with NAC after Michiel Kramer's 67th minute goal cancelled out Mats Seuntjens's effort in the 31st minute.

ADO had to play the majority of the game with a one-man disadvantage after Wilfried Kanon was sent off in the eighth minute.
