Eintracht Braunschweig have confirmed the arrival of midfielder Salim Khelifi from Swiss outfit FC Lausanne-Sport.

The transfer fee for the Switzerland Under-21 international is thought to have cost the Bundesliga side a fee in the region of £500,000 and he has signed a contract which will run until June 2018.

Eintracht general manager Marc Arnold told Braunschweiger Zeitung newspaper: "Salim Khelifi was under contract with Lausanne and we have agreed a deal with them. We had been looking at him for some time already.

"Still the injury sustained to Torsten Oehrl forced us to find a boost to the attacking positions. Due to the length of the contract agreed with the player, it's easy to understand we clearly had a future of the club in mind. "
