Massimo Donati has expressed his desire to return to AC Milan following an unsuccessful spell with Celtic.
The 27-year-old midfielder claims the Serie A giants have already been in touch with his representatives about the prospect of bringing him back to Italy.
The San Siro side are likely to seek cover for former Rangers star Rino Gattuso as he faces up to six months out of action with a knee ligament injury.
Donati joined the Scottish champions in 2007 and admits that he would jump at the chance to return to his former club.
"It is up to the Celtic management to decide - but if Milan asked me to go, I would say yes," Donati told the Sunday Post.
"I haven't spoken to anyone at Milan directly but I know they have been in touch with my agents.
"Italy is my country, and Milan is a big name. It is clear I would like this to happen."
