O'Kelly keen to keep Taylor

New Hereford manager Richard O'Kelly is hoping to extend the loan of Lyle Taylor after the midfielder scored the only goal at Morecambe.

O'Kelly, who took over from Jamie Pitman earlier in the week, saw the on-loan Bournemouth man produce a fine volley to earn his side what could be a vital three points in their quest to stay in the Football League. He said: "I've only been here a few days, but I've seen enough to suggest we have a decent side here. It was clear when I got here that there's a great team spirit and when you have that you always have a chance of having a decent side. "I'm pleased for Lyle and pleased for the lads. He scored a great goal and showed some quality with his finish and although he's young he's a player with great potential. "His loan spell is up now, but I hope we can do something to extend it. We're in talks already with Bournemouth to do something and I hope we can get something sorted out. "He'll get the headlines, but we had some experienced lads out there who helped see us through. We were under a lot of pressure in the second half, but people like Kenny Lunt held things together and I thought our defence were excellent."
