Experienced keeper makes move back to East End Park

Former Scotland goalkeeper Paul Gallacher has sealed his return to SPL newcomers Dunfermline Athletic. Gallacher, 31, has penned a two-year contract with the Pars after leaving for St Mirren in 2009. He has made the switch back to East End Park, having kept 25 clean sheets in 82 appearances during his last spell for the club. Dunfermline manager Jim McIntyre told the club's official website: "Paul has been a top goalkeeper over the years and we are delighted to get him. "He was sought after by a few other clubs so I'm very, very pleased to have secured his signature." Gallacher will now compete for a first-team place with former Saints team-mate Chris Smith. Smith played in every one of Dunfermline's First Division matches last season and recently agreed a new deal. McIntyre added: "It is important that we have two good 'keepers vying for the number-one spot and Paul's arrival will provide good competition."
