Aberdeen manager Craig Brown has confirmed his interest in Coventry City midfielder Isaac Osbourne after warning Chris Maguire of the perils of leaving Pittodrie.
Osbourne is being released by Coventry when his contract expires in the summer and has not played a first-team game since November 2009 due to a knee injury.
He recently spent a week with Aberdeen and Brown would be keen to sign the 24-year-old if he can prove his fitness.
"We had him up some weeks ago for a week's work with us and he certainly looked very special," said Brown.
"The major problem concerning recruiting him is fitness and we've got to be sure the injury problems he's had over the past 18 months have disappeared.
"If that's the case we'll obviously be interested in him."

Meanwhile, Brown remains hopeful that Scotland striker Maguire will agree a new contract to remain with Aberdeen.
Brown suggested any change in the offer made by Dons managing director Duncan Fraser and director of football Willie Miller to Maguire could be in the length of the deal and warned the forward that moving could be to his long-term detriment.
"Chris has had a very good offer and hopefully he'll consider it favourably," Brown told the club's
official website.
"I think it would very much be in his own best interests to remain and progress his career, rather than risk going somewhere where he could find himself on the bench or not even selected.
"It would be a retrograde step for Chris Maguire to go to a Championship team and end up on the bench."
