Edinburgh: That was harsh on us

Newport Justin Edinburgh believes their 3-0 loss at Hartlepool was harsh on his off-form side.

The heavy loss was County's sixth game without a win and, while they desperately hope Tuesday's home game with Oxford goes ahead, they need a lift in fortunes. Their Rodney Parade pitch has been off limits and this was their seventh away game in their last eight outings. "It was harsh on us," reflected Edinburgh. "I think we deserved better than 3-0, but the goals we conceded were disappointing. "I think the first goal is so vital and it turned the game against us. The second early in the second half was disappointing from our point of view - we need more communication from players in that situation. "The boys gave plenty of effort, I can never knock that side of their game. We huffed and puffed at times, but weren't quick enough." "It's our first game in two weeks, and then it was two weeks before that as well. "Hopefully that can turn around and we start to get some games in at hgome and start winning games again. We are due to be at home on Tuesday, let's hope the weather is kind to us and there's five games in a row at home to come."
