Oxford have recalled midfielder Adam Chapman from his loan spell at Newport.
The two clubs had agreed to extend Chapman's one-month deal after he impressed during his initial stay in South Wales but, following injury to the U's captain Jake Wright, the 22-year-old has been called back to the Kassam Stadium. Oxford manager Chris Wilder told the club's official website: "Adam has done very well for Newport and been playing matches, which is precisely what he needs to get fitter and sharper. "We will wait to see how serious Jake's injury is but we want to keep every option open at such a busy time in the season."
