Pirates striker calls for unity

Striker Chris Zebroski has urged Bristol Rovers to show a collective unity as they look to claw their way up the League Two table.

The Pirates currently lie 17th in the division's standings, and after their most recent defeat - a 2-0 home loss to Barnet on Saturday - the club's fans voiced their displeasure towards manager Paul Buckle. But Zebroski believes Rovers have it in them to buck the trend and improve their recent form, and he is predicting a positive result from their trip to Southend this weekend. "These are hard times and nobody is hurting more than us," he told the Bristol Evening Post. "But as long as we stick together, I think we can come out of it a lot stronger. "All we can do is get back on the training ground, work hard, put it behind us and look forward to Saturday's game at Southend. It will be a different sort of game altogether. We will go there very much as underdogs - so it's probably one we'll go and win. "We won at Morecambe when they were top of the table - and we had gone into that game off the back of a home defeat against a side we'd been expected to beat, so hopefully we can get the same sort of result at Southend."
