Peterborough United striker Rene Howe has joined Blue Square Premier side Rushden & Diamonds on loan until January.
The 23-year-old moved to London Road back in 2007 but has struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular and has instead enjoyed loan spells at Rochdale, Morecambe, Lincoln and Gillingham. Rushden manager Justin Edinburgh said: "It's a great opportunity for him to put himself in the shop window. If he does well for us we'll obviously be pleased with that and it's a great opportunity for him to get himself back into the League. "He showed that ability last year, he scored goals in League One. He had loans at Morecambe and Rochdale where he's done well, so I have no fears about his quality and I'm sure he'll be looking to get some goals."
