Murray proud of Mansfield

Adam Murray breathed a sigh of relief after Mansfield overcame Concord Rangers to avoid an FA Cup first-round giant-killing.

Ollie Palmer's second-half strike was enough to see off the Conference South part-timers, playing at this stage for the first time in their history. Murray said: "We knew what kind of game it was going to be and we knew the surroundings and we had to make sure the boys were ready for that. "Concord have been absolutely incredible. They gave absolutely everything and run us close. It's a credit to them and their management to put us in that position. "I thought in the first half we got a little bit tied up in the two styles we've been playing and we were causing ourselves problems so we tweaked it at half-time, gave them a little more guidance and fair play to the boys they gave us everything in the second half and I really proud of them." Concord manager Danny Cowley hopes his side's cup exploits can inspire a strong second half of the season. He said: "My overriding emotion at the moment is disappointment. "But when we have an opportunity to dust ourselves down and reflect I think we can be mightily proud of the efforts we have put in over the two games. "We've taken a League Two side right to the limit so we have to take confidence from this. "We've made it really uncomfortable and difficult for them and we've just come up on the wrong side of the result, which is football."
