Kee back in training

Burton Albion striker Billy Kee has resumed training after a five-week lay off with a thigh injury.

Albion boss Gary Rowett is glad to have the 22-year-old back on the training ground and hopes it will not be too long before he is back in first-team contention, admitting that the side has missed Kee during his absence. The Brewers have won just two of the seven matches without Kee, losing the last three on the spin. Rowett told the Burton Mail: "We've started to build things up this week now. Kicking the ball has been his problem, not the running or fitness work, and it's a big problem if your striker can't strike a ball. "We've got to see if he gets any discomfort in training or not. In an ideal world it would be a gradual thing, bringing him back in. But it rarely is ideal - although we've got to make sure we keep him fit for the rest of the season. "I think the disappointing thing for me is he came back after the summer in the best shape I've ever seen him in. There was a little bit of excitement about it and we thought he'd have an absolutely massive impact on our season. "To not have him available is really frustrating. When you're not winning you don't see that as much but when you're losing, he's the first person you think about."
