Cheltenham boss gets November nod after fine month

Cheltenham boss Mark Yates has won the League Two Manager of the Month award for November. Town conceded just one goal in November on their way to three wins and that was enough to secure Yates the gong. While Yates was proud to receive such recognition, he preferred to praise the contribution of everyone at the club. "I'm delighted to receive this award, but it's one for the whole team and not just myself," he told the club's official website. "I am nothing without my players and they have been superb this season." Alan Curbishley, who chairs the judging panel, pointed to the Robins' impressive away record as to why Yates was victorious. "November was a fantastic month for Cheltenham. Notable away wins at Oxford and Bradford mean they now occupy an automatic promotion spot," he told the club's official website. Yates faces a stern test of his team's promotion credentials this weekend as they host leaders Southend. Burton Albion striker Billy Kee has been named Player of the Month after scoring four goals in three games in November.
