Former Stockport defender links up with old team-mates

Rotherham have signed Michael Raynes from Scunthorpe for an undisclosed fee on a two-year deal. The 23-year-old defender started his career at Stockport where he made over 150 appearances and claimed promotion from League Two while at Edgeley Park. He will join former team-mates Conrad Logan, Adam Le Fondre, Johnny Mullins and Jason Taylor at Rotherham, which should make his assimilation progress easier. "I'm delighted to be here," he told the club's official website. "This is a massive club and I know a lot of the lads here. "When the opportunity arose for me to sign I was over the moon. I've been promoted from this league in the past and I want another medal. "I class myself as an old school centre-half. I'll head it and kick it, but I try and play out from the back as well."
