Vale star keen to improve

Port Vale winger Rob Taylor believes he will only improve under the stewardship of new manager Jim Gannon.

Gannon got a first look at his new charges in Saturday's 4-2 FA Cup defeat at Burnley, and the new boss was pleased with Taylor, who grabbed both Vale goals to end a nine-month goal drought. The midfielder told The Sentinel: "The new manager is quite technical. He likes to give you information and wants you to improve, and for players like me that can only be a good thing." "I feel the gaffer can definitely take me to the next level. Every manager is different, and he's bringing in new methods too." Taylor was Vale's top scorer last season, scoring 10 goals.
