Bury boss to cast eye over trialists

A number of trialists will link up with the Bury squad for pre-season training on Monday and manager Alan Knill hopes to unearth a couple of gems. Knill is keen to bolster his ranks during the transfer window and has invited several players to Gigg Lane to try and earn permanent contracts. The Shakers boss is also looking to sign a player on loan from a higher division, although he insists he is in no hurry to add to his squad. "We have a group coming in and we hope we can find something within them and the good thing, however, is that we are in no rush," he told the Bury Times. "If the season started tomorrow we would have a team and that means we won't be panicked into signing anyone. "We are looking at bringing in a loan player for six or 12 months, but it's important that they are the right type of player." Bury midfielder Danny Racchi has also signed the contract extension offered to him at the end of last season, while goalkeeper Cameron Belford has agreed terms as well.
