Ferry focuses on goal return

Swindon stand-in captain Simon Ferry is hopeful he can reach the ambitious goalscoring target set by Paolo Di Canio.

The 24-year-old scored within seconds of the kick-off to set the Robins on their way to a 2-0 win, moving the Scot a step closer to Di Canio's challenge of six or seven this season despite having only scored five times in 147 career games before last weekend. "I think two is the best I have ever got in the season, and I have got them quite early, and now I want to build on that," he told the Swindon Advertiser. "When you see the quality we have got on the wings with Robbo (Gary Roberts), Raffa (De Vita) and Matty (Ritchie), when I get runs into the box I should be scoring more goals with the delivery they have got, so hopefully I can start doing it. "I think it (Di Canio's target) is do-able definitely because I should be scoring more, and I have scored two now early on so I think I can go on and get six or seven."
