No festive spirit for Ferry

Swindon's Simon Ferry says the busy Christmas period prevents footballers from indulging too much during the festive season.

Ferry has been an integral part of a Robins side which has climbed to sixth place in League Two this season ahead of the busy schedule around Christmas and the new year. And he has no plans to abandon all the good work the Wiltshire club have put in so far this term for a few extra dollops of Yuletide cheer. "This is the time where maybe you can get a wee bit of an urge to go do stuff," the Scot said. "But with the games coming thick and fast it doesn't really allow you to think about that. Early beds and eating the right food is what it's about now."
