Yeovil boss Terry Skiverton saw his team outplayed by Carlisle, whose 3-0 win was their first-ever victory on a Somerset pitch.
Yeovil's problems began in the fourth minute when debutant Flavien Belson was shown a yellow card for a foul on Rory Loy. The match ended for Belson right on half-time when referee Carl Berry cautioned him for a second time. The decision angered Yeovil, although to be fair to the official, he had given another warning to Belson a minute previously. Regarding Belson's first yellow, Skiverton said: "It should never have been a booking. The lad's French. He'd just come on for his debut and he shouldn't have been booked." Carlisle ran in three goals after the break, and Skiverton moaned: "I had eight players out and we came up against a team in a decent run of form. That first booking created the whole tempo of the game and later on Carlisle relaxed and cut us open. "It was too much for us in the end. They ran out worthy winners and used their extra man very well. We have to chalk that one off and start again."
