Ex-Owls striker makes Rugby Park switch

Kilmarnock's new manager Kenny Shiels wasted little time making his first signing after landing Paul Heffernan. Just days after Heffernan had the remainder of his Sheffield Wednesday deal cancelled he has now made his Rugby Park switch. Shiels believes the team has been short of a finisher since Connor Sammon left for Wigan and he is delighted to have landed Heffernan. The striker failed to secure regular first-team football at Hillsborough, but Shiels is backing him to come good at Rugby Park.

Goals

"I feel since we lost Connor Sammon in January we took a lot of goals out of the team," he said on Sky Sports News. "I'm looking for people who can supply and finish and Paul Heffernan comes into the finishing department. "He's a really good finisher. He needs a good run in the team. "I've seen him play for Doncaster and Notts County. He's a fantastic finisher and fits in with how we play."
