Skysports.com understands Paul Heffernan will depart Doncaster once his contract expires. Heffernan's contract runs out this summer and all parties have decided on a parting of the ways. The 28-year-old spent loan spells at Oldham and Bristol Rovers earlier this season after finding his first-team chances restricted at the Keepmoat Stadium. Heffernan is now ready find himself a new club as he seeks a fresh challenge and the player's agent Clive Hart admits there are a number of clubs chasing the Irishman. "Sean O'Driscoll and Paul have talked and all parties believe it is probably for the best to move on for a new challenge," Hart told skysports.com. "Paul's goalscoring record in the Championship and League One over the last few seasons speaks for itself and there will be no shortage of offers for him as a Bosman. "There are a number of clubs interested in Paul and he wants to go somewhere where he will be playing regularly."
