Striker keen to know where he stands after difficult 11/12 campaign

Anthony Modeste is keen to know where he stands at Bordeaux, with the club offering no indication as to whether he figures in their future plans. The 24-year-old striker has endured a tough time since moving to Bordeaux in the summer of 2010. He has been unable to reproduce the form he displayed at Nice and Angers, which convinced his current employers to make their move. A loan switch to Blackburn Rovers in January 2012 was supposed to help reignite his career, but Modeste failed to find the target during his time at Ewood Park and suffered relegation out of the Premier League. He is now back in France, but is facing up to an uncertain future.

Difficult

A transfer to newly-promoted Bastia has been mooted, but Modeste still has two years left to run on his contract at Bordeaux and is in the dark regarding where he will be playing in 2012/13. "I want to play, being 24 years old," Modeste told L'Equipe. "I want to make a name for myself at Bordeaux. I experienced a difficult season last year and I want to make amends for that. "I would like to show what I can bring to Bordeaux but I will not be satisfied with only a few minutes per match. "No-one at the club has told me anything yet."
