Port Vale have signed former Leicester forward Dany N'Guessan on a short-term contract.

N'Guessan, a free agent since his release by Swindon at the end of last season, has put pen to paper on a deal with the Valiants which will keep him at the club until December 23. The 27-year-old will be available for selection for Saturday's Sky Bet League One fixture at home to Leyton Orient. "He has got pedigree behind him, he has proven he can score goals and hurt team at a higher level than us," said Vale caretaker boss Rob Page. "When we've found out he was available, we've had him in training, looked at it and we're pleased that we've got someone of his ability to strengthen our squad." N'Guessan began his career in his native France with Auxerre but has also had spells at Rangers, Lincoln, Leicester, Millwall and Swindon.
