Colchester have completed the signing of Ipswich defender Elliott Hewitt on a one-month loan deal.
The Wales Under-21 international has featured four times for the Tractor Boys this season but only once since mid-August. Hewitt became Colchester's second signing of the day after David Fox rejoined the club on a three-month contract. "We're pleased to have Elliott join up with us on loan," U's boss Tony Humes told the club's official website. "He's a good young player who will help us move forward in the next month." Hewitt is set to make his Colchester debut in Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie against Gillingham, where he made 20 appearances during a loan spell last term.
