Boss Keith Curle has urged Carlisle to guard against complacency having risen off the foot of the League Two table.

Curle's men collected their second win in three games since he took the reins by beating Hartlepool 3-0. Steven Rigg and Stephen Elliott grabbed their first goals for the club before Mark Beck sealed a comprehensive win for Carlisle late on. Curle refused to pat himself on the back too much, though, insisting there is plenty of hard work ahead. He said: "From the first day I walked into the building I have not looked at the league table. "I know what the requirement is for me from the owner, the chairman and the board of directors - it is to keep Carlisle United in this division. "Make no mistake about it, it is not going be an easy task and we are nowhere near safe or comfortable. We are a work in progress still trying to put building blocks in place. "We have a foundation to build on. I told the players, as long as they give me everything, I will take care of the results." The defeat meant Hartlepool dropped to the foot of the table, prompting manager Colin Cooper to tender his resignation. In a statement on Pools' official website, chairman Ken Hodcroft said: "We would like to thank Colin for his efforts during the last 18 months. "We are glad that we gave him his break in management and would like to wish him every success in the future."
