Miller hopes for Coventry chance

Coventry's summer signing Shaun Miller hopes his brace for the under-21's on Tuesday leads to a stint in the first team.

The 26-year-old striker, who moved from Sheffield United in the summer, has struggled with injury in the last few weeks and has only scored once for the Sky Blues this season. But he hopes his two goals in the 2-2 draw against Colchester will lead to more first-team opportunities. "I was happy to get the goals," he told the club's official website. "It was my first real action since my calf injury. It's always helpful to get minutes and it has definitely helped me." Miller has made seven appearances off the bench for the first team this season, and hopes to add to that tally at the weekend. "I do sense an opportunity to make an impact. I think my performances in training and my substitute appearances have always added something," he said. "I think there are chances in the first-team and if I can get a good run, I'll improve with every game and score goals. "When you've been injured for the best part of three weeks, you're just eager to get out there and playing again."
