Chesterfield have strengthened their attacking options with the signing of Gboly Ariyibi on a free transfer.
The American teenager, who came through the youth ranks at Southampton along with the likes of Luke Shaw, Calum Chambers and James Ward-Prowse, is expected to go straight into the Spireites squad for their League One fixture against Port Vale at Vale Park on Saturday. Ariyibi spent the second half of last season with Leeds and also had a loan spell with Tranmere. The 19-year-old opted for a move to Chesterfield ahead of joining Premier League newcomers Burnley, who offered him a contract recently.
